Refresher Skills Pool update (Option to upgrade to ocean)

- Varighed: 3 Timer (Ca.)
- Sted: QUEENSCLIFF, VICTORIA
- Produkt kode: PJLHXY
Been out of the water a while? This gets you back in, properly.
If you haven't dived in the last 12 months, a Refresher is how you get back in the water — not because your certification expired, but because comfort underwater fades faster than the certification does. Most dive operators (including us) expect one before booking you onto a trip or course after a break like that.
A Scuba Skills Update gives you the chance to review and practice the core skills from your Open Water training with an SSI Dive Professional. It's often required before continuing training after a long break. You'll walk away with an SSI Scuba Skills Update recognition card and, more importantly, your confidence back.
What this session covers:
- Pool-based skills review and practice with an SSI Dive Professional
- Optional upgrade to an ocean dive once you've completed the pool session
This course needs a minimum of 4 students to commence.
Start times can vary.
Equipment
All scuba diving equipment is supplied, except mask, snorkel, fins, gloves and boots. Buy what you need through the Extras tab during booking, or in person on the day — buying through us means it's professionally fitted by our dive crew, with a face-to-face store experience for any warranty or return.
Who can do this course
- Minimum age 10
- You'll need to bring proof of your existing scuba certification (a certification card or number) — this course is a skills refresher, not initial training, so let us know your certification level when you book so we can plan your pool session accordingly.
Because this is a refresher rather than initial training, you don't need to complete a fresh Medical Questionnaire — but if anything about your health has changed since you were last certified or last dived, you'll need medical clearance from a GP before your session. Let us know when booking if that applies to you.
A quick medical check with your GP may still be needed if you:
- Struggle to perform moderate exercise — for example, walk 1.6km (one mile) in 14 minutes, or swim 200m without resting — or have been unable to take part in normal physical activity due to fitness or health reasons within the past 12 months, or
- Have had surgery within the last 12 months, or have ongoing problems related to past surgery, or
- Are taking prescription medications (except birth control, or anti-malarial drugs other than mefloquine/Lariam)
