Nitrox isn't just about longer dives — replacing some of the nitrogen you breathe with extra oxygen makes it a genuinely safer gas to dive on, reducing nitrogen narcosis at depth. The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program teaches you how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. 

On top of the safety margin, Nitrox extends your no-decompression limits and cuts down the surface interval you need between dives — more time in the water on your next trip, less time waiting on the boat or the shore. You'll earn your SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification on completion.


This one's theory-based with dry practical sessions — there's no in-water component, so it's a fast, low-cost way to upskill before your next shore or boat dive.

What you need before you book

  • Minimum age 10 (a parent's or guardian's consent is required for participants under 18 years old, consistent with our other courses)
  • Must already hold or have began Open Water Diver certification 

No dive gear or equipment is needed for this course — it's theory only, with no in-water time.
