Not just one wreck. Two hundred of them.

Many of the world's best dive sites are wrecks — ships that have sunk through the ages and become thriving artificial habitats for marine life. This program gives you the skills and knowledge to safely dive above and around them. You'll earn the SSI Wreck Diving certification on completion.

Port Phillip Bay is home to over 200 shipwrecks — and this certification is what lets you go explore them.

Ready to go further? Once you're certified, our Advanced Wreck Diving Course takes you inside the daylight zone of a wreck's overhead environment.

Mandatory personal gear: you'll need your own SMB, reel, torch and compass for this course. Mask, snorkel, fins, gloves and boots are also on you, same as our other courses. Buy what you need through the Extras tab during booking, or in person on Day 1.

Buying through us means it's professionally fitted by our Dive Crew, and you've got a face-to-face contact for any warranty or return issues.



How the course runs

In-water training and a total of 2 open water dives — 1 day (approx.)

This course needs a minimum of 4 students to commence.

Start time will vary.



Who can do this course

  • Minimum age 10 (a parent's or guardian's consent is required for participants under 18 years old, consistent with our other courses)
  • Must already hold an Open Water Diver certification or higher


A dive medical check may be required if you:

  • Struggle to perform moderate exercise — for example, walk 1.6km (one mile) in 14 minutes, or swim 200m without resting — or have been unable to take part in normal physical activity due to fitness or health reasons within the past 12 months, or

  • Have had surgery within the last 12 months, or have ongoing problems related to past surgery, or

  • Are taking prescription medications (except birth control, or anti-malarial drugs other than mefloquine/Lariam)

If you fall into one of these categories, we can email you the Medical Questionnaire so you can review it before booking and have it signed by a physician before your course date.
