Same certification. Fits around your weekdays.

This is our standard SSI Open Water Diver certification — the qualification that lets you dive almost anywhere in the world, for life — run across two weekends instead of three back-to-back days. Same instructors, same in-water practice, same certification. Just spread out so it fits around a working week.

Prefer to knock it out in one go? See our standard 3-Day Open Water Diver Course. Want the extra specialties too? See our Open Water Comprehensive option.

The only gear you choose yourself: mask, snorkel, fins, gloves and boots. Buy them through the Extras tab during booking, or in person on Day 1. Buying through us means it's professionally fitted by our dive crew, and any warranty or return issue is a face-to-face conversation, not a call centre.

What's included

  • BCD, regulator, tank, weights and wetsuit hire
  • All SSI training materials and certification fees
  • 2 shore dives and 2 boat dives with a qualified instructor

How the course runs

3 days, split across two weekends:

  • Weekend 1: Saturday
  • Weekend 2: Saturday and Sunday

This course needs a minimum of 4 students to commence.

Start times can vary.

Who can do this course

  • Minimum age 10 (under-18s need a parent or guardian's consent)
  • Comfortable swimming 200m continuously, any stroke, no time limit
  • Able to float or tread water for 10 minutes, any method

A dive medical check may be required if you:

  • Struggle to perform moderate exercise — for example, walk 1.6km (one mile) in 14 minutes, or swim 200m without resting — or have been unable to take part in normal physical activity due to fitness or health reasons within the past 12 months, or

  • Have had surgery within the last 12 months, or have ongoing problems related to past surgery, or

  • Are taking prescription medications (except birth control, or anti-malarial drugs other than mefloquine/Lariam)

None of this is unusual — it's a standard part of learning to dive safely. If you fall into one of these categories, we can email you the attached Medical Questionnaire so you can review it before booking and have it signed by a physician before your course date.
