The SSI Freediving Level 1 program provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely partake in the recreational sport of freediving (breath-hold diving) with an SSI Professional in a pool and open water environment up to 20 metres.


Digital Learning & Academics

SSI has mastered the use of digital technology to make your learning experience easy.  You can start by studying the academics anytime, anywhere at your own convenience.

To start training, students must create a MySSI profile. This can either be done via the SSI website at www.divessi.com/register or by installing the MySSI App.

Simply download the app for either iOS or Android, set up the user profile, and access the world of diving in minutes! The MySSI App safely stores everything in one place, online or offline – training materials, logbook, and certification cards. This includes Recreational Scuba, Extended Range, Freediving and Mermaid.


In-Water Training

During the pool/confined water training, your SSI Instructor will teach you all the necessary skills in a controlled environment until you are comfortable.  Then we head to the open water to perfect the techniques up to 20 metres of depth


Requirements For Completion

  1. Complete academic sessions and assessments
  2. Complete the program’s final exam
  3. Complete at least one (1) breathing session
  4. Complete at least two (2) pool/confined water sessions 
  5. Complete at least two (2) open water sessions

Prerequisites

Minimum Age:  12 Years old

Maximum Depth:  20 metres


Equipment Requirements

All equipment is supplied, EXCEPT Mask, Snorkel and fins.
