Dry Suit Diving Course

Cold water, warm dive.

Temperate water diving brings unique experiences and diverse marine ecosystems — you just need the right equipment to enjoy it comfortably. Different exposure systems call for different skills, and this course teaches you the special requirements for dry suit diving: how to use your new equipment, the real benefits of a dry suit, and how to handle emergency situations unique to diving dry. You'll earn the SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty certification on completion.

Equipment: everything's supplied, EXCEPT mask, snorkel, fins, gloves, boots and your drysuit — you'll need to own one or be buying one before this course starts. There is also the option to hire. Buy what you need through the Extras tab during booking, or in person on Day 1 — professionally fitted by our Dive Crew, with a face-to-face contact for any warranty or return issues.

How the course runs

1 day: a pool session plus 2 ocean dives.

This course needs a minimum of 4 students to commence.

Start times can vary.

Who can do this course

• Minimum age 12 (a parent's or guardian's consent is required for participants under 18 years old, consistent with our other courses)

• Must already hold an Open Water Diver certification or higher

A dive medical check may be required if you:

• Struggle to perform moderate exercise — for example, walk 1.6km (one mile) in 14 minutes, or swim 200m without resting — or have been unable to take part in normal physical activity due to fitness or health reasons within the past 12 months, or

• Have had surgery within the last 12 months, or have ongoing problems related to past surgery, or

• Are taking prescription medications (except birth control, or anti-malarial drugs other than mefloquine/Lariam)
