Scientific Diver Program - Nationally Recognised!! AHCLPW307, SFIDIV302 & SFIDIV304

This course includes:

• AHCLPW307 - Perform restricted diving for scientific purposes
• SFIDIV302 - Perform diving operations using SSBA
• SFIDIV304 - Undertake emergency procedures in diving operations using SSBA

Program

10 Day course (estimated 8 days practical, 2 home study days)

Split over 2 weeks (generally not on weekends.  Weekdays only)

Prerequisites for this unique program

• Minimum Rescue Diver certification
• 60 Logged dives in various conditions
• USI (Unique Student Identifier) number
• First Aid, CPR & Advanced Resuscitation (HLTAID011, HLTAID009, HLTAID015)
• Own Mask, Snorkel, Wetsuit, Weight belt, Fins, Boots, SMB & Reel, Compass, Dive Computer & Torch

Competency within the unit can be satisfied through completion of the following:

1. Plan diving operations
2. Prepare for diving operations
3. Conduct dives for scientific purposes with SCUBA compressed air, or (EAN) systems
4. Respond to emergency diving incidents
5. Check and store equipment
6. Debrief diving team
7. Review diving program

1. Prepare for SSBA diving operations
2. Perform open water SSBA diving operations
3. Maintain an effective work relationship in a dive team
4. Complete activities after SSBA dive

SFIDIV304

Competency within the unit can be satisfied through completion of the following:

1. Perform surface standby SSBA diver activities
2. Perform in-water standby SSBA diver activities
3. Assist in SSBA emergency situations
