Enriched Air Nitrox & Perfect Buoyancy Bundle

Two specialties, one day, real savings

This bundle earns you two SSI specialty certifications in a single day: Enriched Air Nitrox and Perfect Buoyancy. Booked separately, those two courses cost $299 + $299 = $598 — this bundle is $499, a saving of $99.

SSI Enriched Air Nitrox: learn to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen — longer bottom times, better safety margins, shorter surface intervals between dives.

SSI Perfect Buoyancy: advanced buoyancy control and technique so you get more from every dive, use less air, and feel more at ease in the water — plus skills that protect the marine life and environment you're there to see.

What's included

• BC, regulator, tank, weights and wetsuit hire

• Confined-water (pool) session for the Perfect Buoyancy specialty (the Nitrox component is theory-only, with no in-water session of its own — see Course Schedule below)

Mandatory personal gear:  Mask, snorkel, fins, gloves and boots are on you, same as our other courses. Buy what you need through the Extras tab during booking, or in person on Day 1.

How the course runs

1 day (approx.):

• Nitrox component: academic session analysing and understanding gas concentrations — theory only, no in-water session

• Perfect Buoyancy component: academic and practical pool sessions on advanced buoyancy technique

This course needs a minimum of 4 students to commence.

Who can do this course

• Minimum age 10

• Must already hold an Open Water Diver certification or higher

A dive medical is only required if you fall into one of the following categories:

• Struggle to perform moderate exercise — for example, walk 1.6km (one mile) in 14 minutes, or swim 200m without resting — or have been unable to take part in normal physical activity due to fitness or health reasons within the past 12 months, or

• Have had surgery within the last 12 months, or have ongoing problems related to past surgery, or

• Are taking prescription medications (except birth control, or anti-malarial drugs other than mefloquine/Lariam)

If you fall into one of these categories, you'll need a diving medical (AS4005.1) — around $100 and 45 minutes with a registered diving doctor. Not sure where you stand? Check our SSI Medical Waiver before you book, or just ask us.
