Learn to dive. Actually love it.

We don't just teach you to dive — we teach you to be comfortable underwater, so you keep doing it. This is a globally recognised SSI Open Water Diver certification: the qualification that opens the door to diving anywhere in the world for the rest of your life.

Personalised, small-group training combined with real in-water practice means you're not just ticking boxes — you're building the skills and confidence to dive well after the course ends.

By the end of this course you'll have:

  • Your SSI Open Water Diver certification, recognised worldwide
  • 4 open-water dives under your belt — 2 shore dives, 2 boat dives
  • Hands-on time with a Scubabo instructor, not just a manual

What's included

  • BCD, regulator, tank, weights and wetsuit hire
  • All SSI training materials and certification fees
  • Introductory Pool Session covering all required SSI Open Water Level skills
  • 2 shore dives and 2 boat dives with a qualified instructor

The only gear you choose yourself: mask, snorkel, fins, gloves and boots. Buy them through us — during booking (see the Extras tab) or in person on Day 1 — and two things are guaranteed: it's fitted properly by our dive crew, and if you ever need a warranty or return, you deal with a real person in-store, not a call centre.

How the course runs

3 days, starting Day 1 at 9:00 AM. Theory, 2 pool sessions, 2 shore dives and 2 boat dives.

If you are unsure please refer to our SSI Medical Waiver prior to booking.

This course needs a minimum of 4 students to commence.

Start times can vary.

Who can do this course

  • Minimum age 10 (under-18s need a parent or guardian's consent
  • Comfortable swimming 200m continuously, any stroke, no time limit
  • Able to float or tread water for 10 minutes, any method

Before your course, you'll complete a short Medical Questionnaire — this is standard for all new divers, not just you.

A dive medical check may be required if you:

  • Struggle to perform moderate exercise — for example, walk 1.6km (one mile) in 14 minutes, or swim 200m without resting — or have been unable to take part in normal physical activity due to fitness or health reasons within the past 12 months, or
  • Have had surgery within the last 12 months, or have ongoing problems related to past surgery, or
  • Are taking prescription medications (except birth control, or anti-malarial drugs other than mefloquine/Lariam)

None of this is unusual — it's a standard part of learning to dive safely. If you fall into one of these categories, we can email you the attached Medical Questionnaire so you can review it before booking and have it signed by a physician before your course date.
